Subject: Consultation on Secondary Legislation for the Higher-Risk Buildings Regulatory Regime (In-Occupation-Residents’ Voice)
Good afternoon Residents’ Voice Advisory Group.
We wanted to let you know that the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities has just published consultations on:
- Implementing the new Building Control Regime for Higher-Risk buildings and wider changes to the Building Regulations for all buildings; and
- The In-occupation Regime for Occupied Higher-Risk Buildings
As members of the Residents Voice Advisory Group we’d like to thank you for your help in shaping the proposals that we are consulting, such as the information residents are provided with, the complaints policy and the residents engagement strategy.
We would like to draw your attention, in particular, to the Residents’ Voice section of the In-occupation Regime consultation. This can be accessed and completed directly using the following link: https://consult.levellingup.gov.uk/building-safety/residents-voice/.
These consultations and all our Building Safety consultations can be found on the Department’s consultation platform, Citizens Space here.
HTML versions which allow email responses can also be found on Gov.uk:
We value your continued supported in helping us to develop this secondary legislation and would be grateful if you could respond to this consultation and share it with anyone you think will be interested. The consultations will be open until the 12 October 2022.
These consultations are part of a series of consultations on regulations which provide practical measures that enable the law as set out in the Building Safety Act 2022, to operate and be enforced against.
We are keen to gather a wide range of views to support our policy development process. The responses to this consultation will be used to help us develop the content of regulations before they are laid in Parliament.
If you have any questions, or if it would be helpful to discuss any aspect of the consultation, please do get in touch. If it is in relation to implementing the new building control regime the email address is: firstname.lastname@example.org. If it is in relation to the in-occupation regime please email: email@example.com.
