Implementing the new Building Control Regime for Higher-Risk buildings and wider changes to the Building Regulations for all buildings and The In-occupation Regime for Occupied Higher-Risk Buildings have just been published by the Department for Levelling up, Housing Communities.
Thank you to those members of the Residents Voice Advisory Group whose contributions have helped to shape the consultations on the proposals which include the information residents are provided with, the complaints policy and the residents engagement strategy. These consultations are part of a series on regulations which provide practical measures that enable the law as set out in the Building Safety Act 2022, to operate and be enforced against.
Residents and leaseholders should be safe and feel safe in their homes, and with this in mind your participation in the Residents’ Voice section of the In-occupation Regime Consultation (please do share with others who you think would be interested) can be accessed and completed here: https://consult.levellingup.gov.uk/building-safety/residents-voice/.
We welcome your views which will support the policy development process and will help with the development of the content of regulations before they are laid in parliament. The consultations will be open until the 12th October 2022.
If you have any questions, or if it would be helpful to discuss any aspect of the consultation, please do get in touch via email at firstname.lastname@example.org regarding the implementation of the new building control regime or email@example.com regarding the in-occupation regime.
Your continued support in helping with the development of this secondary legislation is very much appreciated.
